Think I need to clarify. My son is in receipt of contributory ESA old style . I understand that receipt of this is dependent on being in the Support Group, which he is. Currently undergoing a renewal assessment. If this goes wrong, I will do mandatory reconsideration and appeal. In that case given the type of ESA he is on, can he receive the ESA basic allowance while appealing the decision.

Hi Slegne

If your son found himself having to put in an MR or an Appeal to stay in the support group he should be paid some ESA while he fights the case.
