Hello all,

When I rang PIP today and explained my daily living and mobility had worsened in line with the worsening of my health conditions the person who answered the phone said it was not too late to send medical evidence to confirm my deterioration.

I have done so from various surgeons but not from my GP.
Also when GP surgery gave me printouts for free of my whole medical history they said I could get a letter from their GP but they also told me last time the GP could only say what is on their system already and I have proof of anything on their system.
Plus I recently joined their surgery, I have never seen one GP face to face except from a medical person not a GP.
I explained I am hesitant to ask for letter from GP even more so when I have not seen them if person and thought maybe that if needed for MR and lockdowns allows us to see GP face to face then if needed I could ask for a face to face appointment that way they can see I have mobility problems and note it in their letter and do a medical assessemnt (what I could do and not do) and the letter of support to go with it. As if I get a letter from GP now they will not write anything new.

Does anyone have any thoughts, or examples from personal experience maybe that could help.

Thank you.
Best wishes

Hi Olympia

I fully understand your predicament and it is happening to many claimants.

A word of caution with your medical print out, only send DWP items from your medical print out that will help your case, if you send the whole print out some items may be misinterpreted such as a letter from a hospital informing your doctor no further follow required, this could be seen that your condition has improved or it could be saying that there is nothing else they can do.
