Hi all,
I was due my Telephone assessment at 11am this morning (for UC/WCA) and was called at 11.10am and told the HCP doesnt need to speak with me. I'm assuming this is a bad thing but does anyone else have similar experiences or any know what happens next?

The site has been really helpful so im confident my uc50 was done well.

Hello aberdeenangus,

I would actually be really hopefully that it is a good thing. It means that the HCP believes that they have enough information in your application and supporting evidence to make a decision. This could theoretically mean that they believe it is clear that you are in full physical and mental health, but it would be a brave stance and certainly open to challenge if you have presented the opposite case.

The only times I have met this scenario it has been good news, but no promises...

Hoping you get the right decision,
Catherine

p.s. please do let us know when you know.

Thanks for the swift response. I'll let you guys know when I hear. Although there are obviously no guarantees you've lifted my spirits a bit and given this sceptical Scotsman reason to be optimistic

Hi just an update. 8 weeks after my WCA was cancelled I got a message on my journal telling me I'd been awarded LCWRA without need for medical. So just to say to anyone feeling disillusioned, the guides on this site really can help and I know for a fact my application was much stronger for having followed them. Thanks to all involved and now I can await PIP assessment with less anxiety.

Hello aberdeenangus,

That is really good news! I am pleased for you. Thank you also for your kind words about our guides, we think they are great, but it is always good to hear that members agree with us!

I wish you success with your PIP assessment, and please do come back to us if you need to.

Catherine
