That is exactly what I was thinking LL26 that even though in law we are legally entitled to claim this I really don’t want to jeopardise our DLA and ESA awards so did not claim it. I am going to leave things as they are.
Thank you everyone for your advice.

Bud wrote: Sorry Jess, don't mean to waffle on, repeat myself, or run down WR in any way. I forgot to mention that WR did say that we could claim CA, I knew that I definitely couldn't, & I certainly never considered that my partner would be able to claim it for me, seeing as he is the less able bodied of the two of us. I did call WR a second time & query this, they said that my partner would be claiming for me, if I was confused before, I was even more confused by this time! They said to put in a claim for CA which we would be turned down as we weren't entitled to it, then put in a claim for CP due to an underlying entitlement. After a bit of delving around I understand you don't actually have to do anything to be a carer (hope someone will correct me if I am wrong), all you need is to just be there for them, as in support by listening, prompting, encouraging, even texting if you don't live with them. There are things that my partner can't do that I can ... Other things we do together as we wouldn't be able to do them alone. Hope this helps.
Thank you Bud. That has been very helpful. That is the same as my situation as in the underlying entitlement to CP.
Have you been reassessed for PIP or ESA like Drylander since receiving CP as that is what I am most worried about if I claimed it? It’s been so hard getting PIP and ESA I would be afraid to lose it by claiming CP however if I was able to without rocking the boat I would.
Thanks again Bud,
Jessica

Bud wrote: You're welcome Jess. My partner's not been assessed for ESA. We've both been assessed for PIP several times & it's been mostly fine. Apart from the last time when I lost mine but got it back though MR & decided to go to the tribunal, which is ongoing. Partner got enhanced with both after the tribunal. We didn't claim PIP for ages for my partner as he didn't want to rock the boat either, go for it & claim what you're entitled to.
Thank you Bud for all your advice. You have been really helpful.
It’s crazy isn’t it to be afraid to claim what you are legally entitled to claim.
Thanks again
