PIP Car Lease Renewal was created by Nicky Temple
Due to Covid, DWP very kindly extended my PIP award to February 2022. However, because I have a Motability car, to renew my car or extend the lease for another year on my existing car, I must have at least 12 months PIP award remaining. They don’t make that too clear, do they? Presumably, I have to review my claim now to get any chance of a further extension. Would you recommend I do that now? Has anyone else had the misfortune of coming across this?

We can't advise you what to do for the best here. You could contact Motability to see if there is any wriggle room in these unprecedented times, or you could ring the DWP and ask if you could have an earlier review.

This happened to me too, my award was extended to January 2022 and Motability extended my lease to match the new date that the payments had been extended to. Give them a ring they are very helpful.
