PIP review form has no send by date? was created by hippyhappyone
Hi, I just received my PIP renewal form. Normally there is a date by which it has to be sent...but there is none, just a blank space where the date should go.

I am wondering if this has something to do with covid...maybe taking into account that this is causing delays....or if it is a mistake? I can't bear the thought of calling them. Obviously I don't want to get my pip stopped for taking too long but neither do I want to rush the process and not complete it as effectively as I can

Anyone know or had similar?

Hello Bea,

Hello and welcome to the forums. If you have not had an explore of the site you might wish to start here. Welcome to Benefits and Work

The situation you present is a new on me, but then the DWP like to keep us on our toes :P

Whilst you may not have a date by which you need to send in your form, unless they have notified in writing then the end of your current award will still be the same as it was. If you don’t get the renewal form back in time for them to do an assessment and made a decision before that end date you will have a period of time without any PIP payments. If you get the form back by the end date, and you are successful in your renewal application then any payments will be back dated to when your current award ends.

So I guess you need to do your form as quickly as you can, whilst also doing a good job. Remember that you can always send in additional evidence after you have sent in the form.

Hope this helps,
Catherine

Thank you,

my award runs until February of next year, so a wee while yet. I am not anticipating taking a lot of time to complete it but it will be 2 weeks until I can gather my evidence....and then I want to get someone to check it over from CAB or council benefits advisor.

Hi Bea

I would contact DWP first thing in the morning, inform them that there is no date on the form and that you are waiting for medical evidence, ask them for extra time to return the form.

The DWP usually open at 8:00 am.
