Aargh I've just read on the form that you are not to send a GP supporting letter! It's the only recent evidence I have of my problems, am I not supposed to send it? I'd be really grateful for any advice.

Replied by Catherine on topic AR1 form says not to send GP Supporting Letter??
Hello sjwcr

I always recommend that people send in as much supporting evidence as is possible, including a letter from the GP if you can get one. Assuming that you check what your doctor has put, it may help your case, it certainly won’t harm it.

Please please sjwr, do not be freaked by this misleading bs from DWP, the masters of lies. As Catherine says, subject to the content of the letter being favourable to the claim, you go right on and send anything you want. The purpose of the statement is to mislead you into thinking they will go round contacting everyone's doctor. In practice, as they have to pay them, and it also might give evidence they would rather not know about in your favour, they do not do this most of the time. So this is why we all need to deal with our GPs ourselves and send in anything useful they provide! You can breathe again you have NOT done anything bad!
best, Denby

Hi to all,

Just don't be foolish enough to do what they ask about not sending in GP letter/s of support.

Seems like a ploy to make sure a claimant is instantaneously at a disadvantage with their claim/s.

I always have and I always will send in all of my GP's and specialist letters to them. Furthermore i send in a history of gp letter (support), which show a history of how my health has deteriorated rapidly.

Good luck to all

Regards.

Absolutely send it. They do not play by the rules, their own rules.
You have to try to beat them at their own game, it's a battle and they are definitely the enemy, please don't ever think of any of them as good guys, my experience is they are liars and cheats.
Good luck
