Hi everyone. I hope you are all coping. Our daughter has a very rare autoinflammatory disease effecting her bones. Her mobility needs have increased drastically since her award began. Her current aware of high rate care and lower rate mobility is due to end next year. In light of her deteriorating health and diagnosis, I feel she should be getting higher rate mobility.
Both her OT and School are happy to help with write supporting letters. However, I am aware how schools are accustomed to being very positive about a child and there difficulty in writing about things a child cant do.
If I remember rightly, a few years ago a came across a guide for professional writing supporting letters, giving them examples and guidance on wording and what not to include. Does anyone have a similar guide I could give the professionals to help them help our daughter, many thanks in advance. Paul.

You could send them a copy of this to use as guidance.
Explain the focus is on what your daughter CANNOT do, as it is a claim for benefits.
Good Luck x

Hello Paul,
I think you may find that your daughter's school and in particular her OT are very used to writing supporting letters for PIP and will do a great job of it. Although you are wise to also make sure!

Wow. Never seen this before, thanks B&W.
So DWP says
..."Wherever possible, information collection is kept to a minimum...." [that's why we have to get our own medical reports]
....."Departmental decision makers are required to consider all the available evidence before deciding on benefit entitlement"....[so presumably we are entitled to be dissatisfied when they do not do so].
