ESA telephone assessment renewal. Placed in support group again, but only 2 years to renewal. All previous renewals were for 3 years. ESA85A states unlikely be able to work, and all treatments been exhausted, has a life long condition. Yet prognosis is work unlikely in 2 years. Any thoughts on contradictory nature of report.
There does seem to be a trend for awards to be for shorter periods, so my first thought was 'here we go again'.
I am afraid I have come across many awards where the supporting evidence suggests a much longer award than the one which is given. You can request a Mandatory Reconsideration stating that you believe that the award is right, but you disagree with the length of it. The downside of that is that in requesting an MR you give them the right to review the award and you could end up not in the support group. Now, that hardly ever happens and you could certainly use the initial award as evidence in an appeal, but it has to be a small risk which you should consider.
