I had a Capita call this morning concerning my PIP telephone review last week, same guy who did the interview, needed to clear up some things. Unexpected but just wanted to warn any anxious people that once your assessment is over then it's not always done and dusted.
Also my daughter had a Capita telephone assessment today, there was no warning, no time to prepare, nothing, right out of the blue! About a couple of months ago she was due a telephone assessment but they failed to call, even though they said they'd called three times and we hadn't answered. I chased that up at the time and insisted that we hadn't been called and we had been waiting and ready. Heard nothing back until today, an assessment out of the blue. This can't be right can it?
It is acceptable for assessors to contact people with follow up questions, and a number of members have reported this happening.
What happened to your daughter however is not acceptable! Claimants should be given at least a week's notice before an assessment. Assessors do have a set of rules they are supposed to follow about ringing and ringing back for assessments, one of these is that they should submit their call history as evidence that they have tried to make the calls. If you wished to chase this up further you could request a copy of that call history.
Thanks for the insight into what is sometimes happening, Catherine
