Legacy benefits to UC when changing council area. was created by OUTLANDER
Hi All,
I've just read another thread regarding moving from legacy benefit to UC when moving council area. It states that if your in receipt of ESA CB you would not have to apply for UC.
My understanding and I've also been advised by CAB is that I will have to apply for UC when I move into a different council area. Is this correct? If I have to move to UC I will be over £100 worse off. How is the transitional payment worked out?
Thankyou

Hi Pamela
I have answered your question in another post, we don't have enough information to give you accurate advice.
If you do not have to apply for help with rent, ie you own your own house then you do not need to apply for UC, you only need to apply for UC if you need help to pay rent.
