PIP - Communicating was created by MrFibro
Hi to all,

I need some help guidence on PIP Question 9 - communicating with others (activity 7).

My question is:

I have some hearing loss, but i'm not deaf my hearing has loss in certain frequency range, otherwise my ears are very good.

I wear everyday a combination hearing aid 1 left 1 right ear. They are also used in combination with Bilateral Tinnitus.

The tinnitus has worsened over the last 2 years, and the audiologist had to re-programme the hearing aids to try to mask out my tinnitus in both ears.

Now as I have to wear these all day every day except in bed. Would it worth mentioning on my pip review form what i have just written above.

As my argument is due to having to mask out the severe bilateral tinnitus noises, which i have no control over. means that the combination hearing aids have had to be reprogrammed on very high. Hence me not being able to understand ( people talking to me).

Therefore I would have to struggle sometimes with listening to words.

is this fit for scoring 2 points ?

Thanks for your reading in advance.

Regards.

Hi mrfibrospondodysthmatic

You should certainly mention it and I would expect you to be awarded two points.

Don't forget the new PIP guidance on safety and the potential risk of not being able to hear a standard fire alarm when showering and bathing.
