Text RE Unexpected PIP Phone Call at 11:30

Hello,
I got a text at 08:57 this morning saying that they tried to phone me but couldn't get through so will try again between 11.30 and 12:30. I missed the call because I was asleep and my phone on 'do not disturb'. However I can't see that any call came through on my call log.

Does anyone know what this call could be about?

I reapplied for PIP earlier this year and was awarded both standard rates but have put in a mandatory reconsideration request as I was on both enhanced rates before. I haven't heard about the result of that yet. I also asked for a letter to confirm receipt of a letter with further information for my MR but haven't had one yet.

What possibly could this call be about?
Thank you.

Hello hollyblue and welcome to the forum.

We can only guess what the call might be about. I have heard of them ringing up to clarify a few points prior to making a decision and I have also heard of them ringing people up with the outcome of the MR. It could of course be another variation, so please do let us know when you eventually speak to them.

In the meantime I am hoping that it is good news!

Catherine

Hi Catherine,
They called back earlier than they said they would at 10:30. It was the result of the mandatory reconsideration and I'm thrilled it was good news: extending my award to 5 years and putting it back up to the enhanced rate for both parts. The lady on the phone was very kind and sensible. So relieving not to have to go back to tribunal.
