Evidence to support PIP claim was created by Anne
Hi,

Just asking for a little advice on evidence to supply with PIP.

So far I’ve got a diary of the average week
A letter from a relative stating how the help me and the support I need.
This is all really. I requested all my GP and hospital
Records for the last few years but I feel like these aren’t of any help when reading them. I have had several letters from my GP in the past but they are all very brief. My argument is that my GP doesn’t live with me and therefore doesn’t know how my condition is effects me. So yeah I can ask them for another letter but without telling them what to write I can’t see it being of any help.

Any advice on what other evidence I could include.

Been battling PIP for the last 4 years including appeals and failed claims. Need to get this one as right as I can.
Thanks again

Oh dear Anne, I do hope you get this one at the first round.

You are quite right in focusing on how your condition affects your everyday life and mobility, but part of the Decision Making process is whether or not the effects you describe reasonably fit with the condition(s) you say that you have. A letter from the GP is proof that you have those conditions and it might also include a hint as to the severity of them. This is why a medication list can also be useful.

The other big piece of evidence I would include is the decision of the tribunal panel. Include with it a statement either saying your difficulties with Daily Living and Mobility have not chanced since then, or a statement detailing how they have changed. If the DWP follow the law, there is then an onus on them to demonstrate that that decision no longer applies.

Wishing you success in getting the right decision,
Catherine
