Hello, Please forgive me if i have asked this question before but can you tell me if i will receive the PIP review letter or the light touch letter, i had my PIP extended to jan 2023 and i reached state pension age march 2021, i am a bit apprehensive and if i am going to receive the review letter i am thinking of getting supporting evidence from my doctor in readiness for the review. Any help would be appreciated.
Hi Jeff, This is the 6 million dollar question! No one really knows what the light touch comprises as there are no details yet. It is supposed to be fir those of pension age, and other on PIP for 10 years. Since PIP has only been around since 2013 no one has reached their 10 year anniversary and no guidance has been issued. I can only advise that you assume your next review will be as usual, and obtain GP evidence as before. Then, if you need it, you will have it ready in the cupboard, and if you don't need it, well that's a bonus! In case you aren't aware, mobility awards can not be increased after pension age. I don't know when your last review was, but if recent you maybe able to appeal if you were not awarded the correct mobility rate.If you were not entitled to mobility, or only required standard rate, then I am afraid that no mobility or standard rate will be all you will ever get, even if your mobility decreases. Daily Living awards can be increased to enhanced as needed. I hope this helps. LL26
