Hi all.
We are on universal credit, my husband is registered self empolyed but lost all his work during the pandemic. He is now caring for me. My question is will we be subject to the minimum income floor despite him not currently earning or will we not due to the fact that he is also caring for me? He is recieving carers allowance.

Hi lolau22

I cannot answer your question as it would depend on a number of factors, you say your husband is registered as self employed but lost his work during the pandemic.

The first question to ask; is your husband still registered as self employed?
Second question; does your husband receive Carers Allowance or Carers Element?

I would advise you to seek help from your local welfare rights organisation, You can find your local Welfare Rights Organisation to help you with advice by clicking on the link below and putting in your post code, it will then come up with a MAP with a list of agencies. advicelocal.uk
