DWP saying PIP renewal form wasn't sent on time! was created by L
I sent my renewal forms off in the post 4 days before it was due in, unfortunately I didn't do recorded delivery as it just slipped my mind at the time.
I forgot one sheet of evidence so sent in that a few days later once I'd remembered, this WAS sent recorded delivery.
I've now been sent a letter saying my PIP is ending because the form wasn't sent on time.
I took pictures of every page of the filled in review form thankfully after reading advice on here. I'm kicking myself about it not being recorded delivery and so proof of when I posted it.
Is there anything I can do? I can't do phone calls without severe anxiety (im autistic) and they know this from the forms! I know I probably will have to, I have no idea what to say to them though. I know the lines aren't open today as it's Sunday. Tomorrow is also my birthday but I obviously want to get this sorted ASAP. What an absolute nightmare.
Has anyone got any advice?
Thank you so much in advance

Hi L
Wishing you a Happy Birthday (even though I know you're under huge stress with your claim).
I know you find it difficult to phone, but unless you try and do so, or you can find someone else to make the call for you, your claim is going to be stopped. You need to find out whether they have all the information you sent in and try and appeal to their better nature (to allow your claim to continue). Ask for a call back from a case manager - don't waste any time with the call handler who will answer the phone. If you can't get any joy in making them change their mind, you will have to put in a new claim. I'm glad to hear that you have copies of the information.

Thank you so much for your reply, it gave me the push to write down everything as like a sort of transcript which helped a bit.
The dwp man said that he's been dealing with the exact same problem for the last week or so with many other people. He said the post can take up to 3 weeks to get to them, but I didn't really understand that as the evidence I sent recorded delivery got there in 3 days. I also asked how it was possible for me to return the forms and evidence and for them to end payments if it's a 3 week turnaround for post? I asked for a call back from a case manager and he said he would open the case up again and set it as high priority, and to wait for the call. I did get really upset and anxious on the phone, he was sympathetic to be fair and actually rang me back about 10 minutes later.
He said that he would send another form out for me to fill in, thankfully I had taken pictures of everything I originally sent so it won't be too painful. I have 38 days to get that returned, which will definitely be sent recorded this time...
He told me to ring back in a week to see if they'd received my original but they are reinstating my payments.
Does this all sound about right? I feel like I'm not very trusting of the whole situation at the moment, especially since they have received my recorded letter and claim not to have the other one.
I just want to make sure i don't need to be doing anything else really.
Very grateful for all your help, couldn't have fought it without this page

Hi L
By the sounds of it you had a very nice man at DWP who was sympathetic to your plight.
We always recommend sending any post to DWP by recorded delivery.
I would do as instructed and contact DWP to see if they have received the original, in the mean time complete the replacement form as soon as you receive it, don't forget to send in supporting documents if you have any and send it by recorded delivery, wait 24 hrs then check on line that the package has been delivered, once you get confirmation the package has been delivered, contact DWP to see if it has been entered on their system. You can tell them that you have confirmation it has been delivered.

Hello and thank you so much for the replies so far, they have been so helpful.
After talking to DWP on the phone before, the man said my PIP would be reinstated whilst my case would be reopened.
However, today I only received £128 out of the £358.40 I usually receive. I'm so confused. Where does the number 128 come from and why is it 230.40 less than expected?
I assume another call is in order but I'm not sure if I can cope again with this.
Many thanks for your insight again!

Hello L
I am afraid it sounds as if your award has run out, and the smaller payment you received was for the part of the month before it ran out.
You are right, another call is in order, but if possible I would try and rope in a friend to support you on this. If you are there with them then they can do the talking to the DWP, but even if they don't feel up to that it is a much less stressful experience if you are not going through it alone. (I frequently place bets with people I am supporting as to how long they are going to take to take the call - it adds a little silliness to an otherwise dull proceedure.)
You have fought this far, take that knowledge and use it help you fight on!
