Thank you so much for your advice.
I am hoping that I have someone who will listen and at least understand how hard it is for me.
They only need to read the diagnoses from my neurologist to see my problems.
I wish I had someone to help me but I don’t. I have had to fight my way through everything just to get heard. I know I will end up crying because I get so frustrated trying to find words.
This is a wonderful place to get advice and help. I have to continuously search the forum because I lose my way. But now and again my brain works enough to get me to were I need to be.
Can I ask you, after the phone assessment, how long do they make me wait to know if I will get PIP?
I will come back to let you know how things have gone.
Thank you once again
Pauline

Hello and thank you for your advice.
It has taken me a while to realize that I can reply, I am sorry.
I have taken on board the advise from everyone who have replied. I am really very grateful because I have never been in this situation and had no idea what to do.
I will drop by and let everyone know how things went for me.
Thank you once again

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

HI Pauline,.
Can I just add to all the excellent advice you have been given to not be shy about struggling during the assessment. If your short term memory is not working as you would like it to, say so. Politely ask the assessor to repeat themselves and don't worry if you think you might be repeating yourself.
Think of it as your time to communicate the difficulties you have, and indeed, any demonstration of those difficulties can only support your claim.

Hi Pauline and MODS, very interesting to note, now knowing Pauline is in Northern Ireland, she was notified by letter rather than text and it said she could ask for recording at the beginning of the call. This seems different from text notification in England /Wales, and usually no mention of the right to ask for recording unless you look on the assessment provider's website, if I am right?
You always used to have to give two weeks' warning of your request for DIY recording of a face to face.

Hi Catherine
I do find communicating so difficult.
Also if someone speaks to fast I lose track.
But yes, I will have to ask the assessor to repeat if I get lost.
Thank you for your advise, sometimes I just forget that its important to point out to someone when I cant follow a conversation.
Thank you

Good spot! In my part of the country they seem to be notifying people of appointments by letter, but I have never heard of them offering a recording. Perhaps we should all move to NI.
