PIP mandatory consideration to do or not to do was created by Anniesmum

Hello,

I have had my PIP assessment and in my report from the assessor it clearly states one of the descriptors for mobility which would give me 10 points yet they haven’t awarded me any points for the question.

Do you think it is worth doing a mandatory reconsideration? I don’t understand how they have missed what the assessor said in the report as I cannot go out without support.

We can't you whether you should put in for a Mandatory Reconsideration. 37% of claimants who put in for an MR win - and I think all those people would say it is worth it.
There is always a tiny risk of putting in an MR that they could down grade your current award, but I have only known that happen to two people and those cases were exceptional. The majority of people the award stays the same.

So you need to decide whether you have the energy and time to put in for an MR. If they have missed out looking at a particular report or letter, ask them to look at it again. (I would always quote from it) - and say why you should have scored more points.

I would… and quote from the report. Say you don’t understand how they have reached their decision and could they please explain it to you :-)
