hi, i posted this earlier, but i am not sure if it got through? i am in reciept of esa support group contrbution based benefits and pip, i have been since 2003 when they were known as incapacity benefit and dla, i seem to be reading a lot about telephone assessments, in all my time on benefits i have only completed the forms and sent dr's notes etc to be awarded these benefits, i had one face to face years ago, which was a home visit, are they stopping the paperwork assessments? as my medical conditions are very complex and i do not think i could convey this through a telephone call and i am not well enough to attend a face to face, any advice welcome, many thanks
I have checked the system and cannot find a previous post you made.
As far as I am aware, DWP are not stopping paperwork assessment (called a PA3).
Paperbased assessment are assessed on the supporting documents sent in, if an assessor cannot make an assessment from the information you send in the they will contact you for a telephone assessment or a face to face assessment.
At present face to face assessments are quite rare due to Covid.
