Pip & leap review phone call was created by Natalie
So I just got off the phone to pip about the latest leap review I sent them a letter in June to ask that my case be looked at then spoke to someone in august and they said there not looking at them yet and the only option is to do a change of circumstances and I was told it wouldn’t affect the leap review process and any monies owed would be from April 2019- august 2021 so I went ahead and put a change of circumstances in today I received a phone call and they said my case has been marked at to be looked at but they can’t look at it untill this change of circumstances have been finished. So my question is what are they talking about my change of circumstances has nothing to do with the leap review because in theary my new decision when ever that may be should already have the mm judgment included when deciding points.
Is this just another delaying tactic from dwp I suspect so I can see this is going to be a long and hard road and I’m going to just buckle up and enjoy the ride!!!

Hi Natalie
I can't actually tell you whether this is a delaying tactic. The inner workings of the DWP remain a mystery to those of us not working there. I hope you get a satisfactory outcome.

Iv spoken to a few organisations and they were as baffled as me to the reason to not do a leap review untill the outcome of my change of circumstances.
So I’m going with it’s they know I’m entitled to arrears under leap review but as this is the dwp they like to string it out as long as possible.
I’m owed like 3k and I have a strong suspicion if they think I wasn’t entitled they would of just looked at it then sent a letter out and then I could put in an mr and so the process begins but because they are stalling I can’t start the process.
Ah well I’m sure it will all be sorted by 2032 lol.

A Change of Circumstances applies to your current award.
I assume you have said that your limitations are worse than they were when previously assessed?
So, the DWP is saying if you do not meet the LEAP criteria now then you will not have met it previously and they will likely turn you down for the LEAP review. If you do now meet the criteria then they will then look at whether you have met it previously.
Hope this helps.

Thank you that makes sense.
I feel this is going to be a long hard fight if going on past experience is anything to go by. Haha.
