ESA payment reduced with no explanation? was created by Susan Storey
Hello, my ESA payment has just been reduced by approximately one third, with no letter of explanation. I am in the Support group and have been for well over 5 years. I am not of pensionable age. I don’t know how to check what’s happened, or where to check. All assistance much appreciated.

HI Susan,
I am sorry to hear that your payments have gone down this could be for many reasons or even a error
I would suggest giving the DWP a phone call and asking them why your money has gone down, explain to the DWP that nothing has changed and hopefully they can update you why the change in money has happened.
I hope everything gets sorted for you
kind regards
katherine

Hello,
Have you just been reassessed for DLA/PIP? (my premiums were not reinstated for months and I had to chase up several times).
Has someone moved in with you (making you ineligible for SDP)?
Have you begun to receive any pension payments from an old employer??
Do you have savings?
All these could be factors.
