How to claim PIP for the first time? was created by Dalglish60
Dear Mods,

I read that 1million are currently waiting for a pip assesment etc.....but how do you initiate a claim from begining and receipt of the form. Due to severe MH condition I currently get ESA (SG). Mitigating factor of which is I'm unable to converse with the DWP by phone and have not done so throughout my ESA journey. Is there an alternative way of perhaps writing to the correct DWP address and request a form by return post.

Hi Dalglish60

Start your claim by post

You can start a claim by post instead of phoning, but it takes longer to get a decision.

Send a letter to ‘Personal Independence Payment New Claims’.

You’ll be sent a form asking for your personal information, such as your address and your age. Fill in and return the form.

You’ll then be sent another form which asks about your disability or condition.
