Hello. Help needed. Should you send in a copy of original claim in my case was2018 and do the renewal as a similar separate document or is it best to tweak the original claim as to things are at the moment and just send the one document. Thanks

Hi lyndeperlaky,
DWP should have a copy of the original claim form. Your renewal should reflect what happens now. Have a think about whether anything has changed, what is different are there things you could do before but not so well now? Or maybe things have improved, especially if you have new drugs or have had surgery?
Have your pain levels increased or fatigue breathlessness etc . Pain etc is an indication you can't perform and activity to an acceptable standard, and nat need more help even if you don't get it? What about falls and or stumbles? Maybe you take longer to do something, or eg cut yourself or burn yourself whilst cooking. This may indicate you need help on grounds of safety. If you kept a diary from last time, you could make another and compare.
The award you get now could potentially run for 10 years so unless you want to have to ask for an upgrade almost immediately it's important to get the firm right now.
If nothing has changed simply copy out whatever you wrote before. If things are different explain what has changed. Make it clear if you are worse and why.
I hope thing helps.
