PIP appeal after retirement age

PIP appeal after retirement age was created by celj
I have a client who is in receipt of PIP Daily Living at the standard rate.
Since the award he has reached retirement age.
Am I right in thinking he can still ask for a reconsideration of the existing Daily Living component but not Mobility on the grounds that he does not already receive it?

Hi celj

You are right in your thinking - Daily Living can be considered, but not mobility after the state pension age.

If the Decision was made before he reached State Retirement Age then he can still challenge the failure to award the Mobility component.

If it was made after SRA then they are too late.

Decision was made before SRA but several years ago when mobility issues were not such a problem. The decision was made as the result of an appeal and so reassessment seems his only option which will preclude an award of mobility component but could means an increse of daily living to enhanced.
