I have been in the WRAG Group since 2016 but due to my conditions becoming worse, I applied for an ESA Review on 30 March 2022. I received a medical on 30 December 2022, and received a letter confirming my benefits rise in April, and it states that I am now in the Support Group. I have not received any correspondence regarding the medical and an entitlement letter, but on telephoning ESA I have been informed I am not owed any monies, because I did not lose out. Is this correct?
Unless you applied for a change in circumstances then the DWP are correct. When a review takes place and places you in a higher bracket, then the increase is from when a decision takes place.
If you had contacted DWP and requested a change of circumstances then it would apply from when you requested the change of circumstances.
In you post you state that you applied for a review on the 30th March and not a change of circumstances.
