PIP Telephone Consultation was created by Jackie
I was due a telephone consultation today, 30 minutes after the booked time the phone rang, I answered immediately and no one was there.
Is this another dwp ploy to fob people off?
I rang and it has now had to be rebooked next week, so distressed .

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Jackie
I'm sorry this has happened to you. No, it is not an attempt for anyone to spook you or fob you off. Errors do sometimes happen, and it's obviously very distressing. I'm glad that you have managed to rebook it for next week.

Dear Jackie, if you hadn't already, please please grab this opportunity to make sure you take a covert recording of the 'consultation' = assessment. As regularly stated by our lovely team of moderators, this is perfectly legal for you own use. Don't mention it to them as they will likely refuse to be recorded. IMHO no one should ever have an unrecorded assessment.
Ideally also have a friend with you to boost your confidence eg to insist they repeat any question you did not catch, to wait for you to finish each reply etc, Possibly they can do a test run before to check the voice over the phone will be audible and deal with running the phone/tablet etc that is doing the recording during the assessment.
Best wishes,
Denby
