Partners PIP review and Mandatory Reconsideration DWP said no! was created by peterbrunton
My partner filed for a mandatory reconsideration with the help of epilepsy Scotland after having received her PIP review and it seemed they had not taken into account that she needed supervision whilst cooking and that she has an aid for taking her medication known as a blister pack or dosette box.
They returned her MR to her with no change to it at all no extra points when the lady at the welfare rights department for epilepsy Scotland believes she should have received extra points in certain areas and she was not far off the enhanced daily living component for PIP instead she got the standard rate and enhanced for mobility
Does anyone think there is anything we can do regarding this or provide any advice for this post sorry if anything is wrong subscribed many a time but this is my first post on here.
Kind regards
Peter Brunton

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Peter
Welcome to the forum! I don't know whether your forum name is your real name, but if it is, you want to go into your details and change it.
You could ring and ask for a call back from a case manager to explain why your MR failed. That means they would have to explain why your wife didn't get the points you expected, specifically over things like the dosette box. Now in an ideal world, they could say they made a mistake - but that is unlikely to happen, particularly if your wife needs several points to reach enhanced. After that, your only choice is to put in for an appeal. Only you can decide whether you want to go through that process.
