Self employed on legacy benefits was created by Vanessa
Hi . I'm currently self employed and on legacy benefits (tax/working tax credits). I was working 12-16 per week from home but the last few months I've been to ill to work. I receive standard daily living PIP. I have Fibromyalgia, CKD, Anemia and Depression. My daughter leaves college this summer.
I'm so scared about going on Universal Credits . I can't work as I feel different every day, sometimes in that much pain I don't get out of bed. I spoke to welfare rights last year and when they worked out how much I would be better off , it was actually over £150 per month less. I know I'll get less when my daughter leaves college. I just don't know what to do I've heard so many stories saying I'll be made to work. Any advice gratefully appreciated.

Hi Vanessa
Welcome to the forum.
You might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is; www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/guides-for-claimants/faq/forum
We would advise you to seek help from your local Welfare Rights Organisation who will be able to take all your circumstances into consideration; advicelocal.uk
Being self-employed you may want to seek advice from Business Debtline; www.businessdebtline.org
