NS ESA and UC v UC was created by Anita
Hello,
Can someone advise me please. I've been on UC since July 2022. In March this year I was put in the support group for ESA. Should I tell ESA that I'm on UC and to stop making payments to me. UC deduct my UC £ for £ for the ESA payments. Is there any benefit in staying on ESA?
Thank you

Hi Anita
There are pro's and cons staying on ESA, as you have been placed in the support group then your ESA is paid until you are next assessed.
ESA is paid fortnightly so it can help you to budget, whereas UC is paid monthly.
If you get sanctioned on UC you will always have some money coming in from NS ESA whilst sorting it out.
As the saying goes 'don't put all your eggs in one basket'.
