We sent his form off and have just received a text saying they may need to conduct an assessment which could be face to face or telephone.

Mobility and Health Conditions inc Incontinence would make a face to face distressing for him, do you think it’s possible to ask for a telephone assessment ? If so would we be better calling IAS and DWP to request this or writing,
No appointment for any assessment has been made yet.

I don’t think he would be eligible for a paper assessment.

The text message is a standard message.

I would wait until you actually receive the assessment appointment, if it is a face to face (these are quite rare nowadays) contact the assessors and request a telephone assessment, if you can get a letter from the doctor stating they suffer from overwhelming psychological distress then you may be able to have a paper assessment.
