Hi, in regard to the UC and council tax benefit rules, does the most recent payment count as savings.
For example, lets say savings are 5.5k and a regular UC payment is received for 600 pounds. Does this now mean that savings are to be considered as over 6k or are savings and the latest UC payment able to be kept separate.
This matter seems particularly relevent to CT support because 6k is the threshold for claiming it.

If the regular payment is being spent on their weekly living as described - then its not savings. It's only if people are not spending their money and accrue an amount over 6000 that they go over the threshold.
