PIP TO ATTENDANCE ALLOWANCE AT STATE PENSION AGE

Hello,

My husband has been awarded PIP until June 2027. However, during this period he reaches State Pension age in November 2025.

I would be grateful for clarification as to whether PIP continues until the end of his review period, or does he transfer to Attendance Allowance at State Pension age.

Thank you,

JackieO

He will be reassessed for PIP sometime after July 2026.

Be aware, once he reaches State Retirement Age and is reassessed, then he cannot be awarded the Mobility component if one is not already in payment or the Enhanced award if only receiving Standard.

Hello,

My husband has this month reached state pension age.

You mentioned before, that as he has been previously awarded PIP until June 2027 (via Tribunal), that he would be reassessed for PIP sometime in July 2026.

I am wondering, if PIP is not awarded, can he apply for Attendance Allowance?

Many thanks for your guidance,

Jackie O

Hi Jackie0

Yes, if your husband was not awarded PIP again, there is nothing to stop him from applying for Attendance Allowance.
