Free prescriptions while migrating to uc was created by sealion
Hi everyone.
Asking for a friend, she is waiting the letter to migrate over to uc from income related esa support group.
One of the worrys she has is her prescription which her Dr only allows her to have weekly. At the moment she gets free prescriptionswith been on esa but she doesnt know what happens when she is migrating over to uc, is she still entitled to free prescriptions while migrating.
I couldn't find a clear answer online so thought I'd ask here.
Thanks.

Hi sealion
When your friend migrates over to UC she may still be able to get free prescriptions.
Eligibility criteria
You qualify for help with health costs if, on the date you claim, you either:
~ receive Universal Credit and either had no earnings or had take-home pay of £435 or less in your last Universal Credit assessment period
~ receive Universal Credit, which includes an element for a child, or you (or your partner) had limited capability for work (LCW) or limited capability for work and work-related activity (LCWRA), and you either had no earnings or take-home pay of £935 or less in your last Universal Credit assessment period
If you're part of a couple, the take-home pay threshold applies to your combined take-home pay. www.nhs.uk/nhs-services/help-with-health...ng-universal-credit/
