Warning: SCAM text re "DWP: winter heating payment"

Not many get past my paid-for security but I want readers to be aware. Mentions 'Living Allowance' £100 or £300. No way am I clicking the link in this!
Vilely it puts on pressure by saying "if you do not submit your application by 7th Dec we will disqualify you" For me the real giveaway was the ending wishing me a wonderful and warm winter" The scammers slipped up there in how to imitate the DWP!!!

yeah I got a google message on my phone, saying I should click link as I missed out on winter fuel allowance, reported it for all the good that may do, and deleted, I know I am not entitled to it. loads of scams going round at the moment.

Mark it as spam and put it in your trash.

I got this just a couple of days ago, so it's still a problem.

I called the UC people and reported it; the girl said they'd had a rash of calls about it (but no effort to warn people). Spread the word to everyone you know who might be at risk!

I also forwarded the text message to O2 (on 7726) as spam/fraud. Maybe they can at least slow the culprits down.

And finally I deleted the message.
