I have received a letter from DWP informing me my ESA payment will be reduced one week before I reach state pension age. I have also received a letter from Pensions asking me to apply for my pension, and at gov.uk have seen what I should get.
My question is as the DWP have stated I will receive £xxx from April, does this mean I will continue to receive it after I am 66? If not why have they bothered to reduce it if they are just going to stop it?
Or in this case when I apply for my state pension will the ESA stop completely? Oh I am in the support group.
The ESA department is notorious for posting out confusing information. Your ESA will stop when you reach State Pension age. You may be eligible then for other Pension Age Benefits.
