Good luck with your Tribunal, AnnieB. I found, years ago, on going to Tribunal that the medical expert was very helpful (I think it probably helped that before going into the Tribunal, I came out of the disabled loo with quite a struggle, and the medical expert was in the lobby waiting to be let in, and because the door opened outwards, everyone took a step back and I crashed into the wall as I lost my balance, not knowing that the guy in the suit was on the panel).

I know it's easier said than done, but do try not to fret too much about it in the meantime. In my experience, the Tribunal panels are more humane than some of the decision makers.

  			 				Hi somebody-else

Good luck, be yourself, do you have anyone to be with you for support?

- Don't take extra medication to get through the ordeal as that will go against you.
- Write yourself a bullet point list of any particular points you want to get over, so you have it by you during the tribunal, tick them as you cover them.
- have paper and pens to hand to make any notes such as the tribunal panel names, date, time
- make sure you are seated in a comfortable chair, you may be there a while and at table to make notes.
- if you can't hear or understand what is being asked, then ask them to repeat the question.
- don’t let the panel members rush you and get you flustered, if you do not know how far something is say so, do not make up an answer.
~ If you need a break ask them for a break.
- don't forget to have a glass of water if needed so you don't get a dry throat and lose your voice!

Let us know how you get on.

Sorry, Gary, I think I've inadvertently caused some confusion here - I was trying to offer support to Annie B. It's not me that has a tribunal soon. I'm just reading up as I've had my 'invitation' to apply to migrate from ESA to UC

Well I can only describe my Tribunal as an hour and 10 minutes of intense interrogation.
My daughter was with me but although she reiterated at the end of the call just how much my life is impacted, it all seemed to fall on deaf ears and my appeal was denied.

I feel absolutely heartbroken and devastated and to make matters worse, it seems they made the decision within 10 minutes of appeal.ending as I kept checking online to see if result updated.

I was up against the PA4 which was factually incorrect and a note on a hospital admission that said my life was normal and I could walk and climb stairs, when this had never even been discussed.

I can see why so many people give up.on this process, it's been a terrible ordeal from the start and the week leading up to the Tribunal was full.of anxiety and irrational thoughts.

I now presume I wait until May 2026 when my award was given up to at MR, and either reapply or simply give up.

  			 				Hi Annie,

The PA4's seem to be inaccurate for so many of us - and as hard as it is to constantly keep fighting, you have to until the very end sometimes, because it's only then that they see how determined somebody is, and that you have the Upper Tribunal for example on your side, especially if they find an error of law was made in the FtT. I am still going through this process now myself and it has been ongoing since June 2023!

Stay Strong Annie!
