New UC Claim- Natural Migration- LCW-WRA Missing? Normal? was created by sgbd
Hello,
I'm just looking for a bit of advice. We got our statement from UC today, with our first payment expected in about a week on the 15th. We were on income based ESA before, with a Severe Disability Premium. Our UC statement has transitional protection for that premium, and the correct standard allowance, but there is no LCWWRA element. I left a message about it on the journal, per citizen's advice, but I'm just wondering if this is an easy fix or a sign that things are about to be a mess? Does this happen often? I don't understand how we got the SDP transitional protection but no LCWWRA for my husband who was considered unfit for work by ESA? It's pretty weird right?
Thank you for your time!

Hi sgbd
The DWP have admitted that their IT systems were not fully operational for Managed Migration and that they are processing claims on a Test and Learn basis.
Others are reporting a similar experience to you. Here is a discussion of the subject by the Child Poverty Action Group--

Let me know how you get on.

Hi David,
Thank you very much for the reply and the reassurance.
I am just wondering if you happen to know who else I might be able to contact about this if nothing is resolved soon? Our award is about £904 less than we were expecting through citizen's advice, and we kind of need that, so I'm hoping there's some chance we can get this fixed before the first payment on the 15th- I guess I'm nervous about leaving it solely with the journal. So if there are any other options too I would be really grateful to hear about them.
Thank you again for your time!

Hi sgbd
Your payment statement should be released to your UC account 4 days before pay day. If it is still incorrect we can look at a manager's complaint.

Hi David,
Just to say that the payment statement is where I got the figures from. It was available today- 2 days earlier than it said it would be. Is it possible the payment statement will automatically change on the day it was supposed to be released?

Hi sgbd
Yes they can remove and alter a statement. So it is important to take a photo or screenshot of the incorrect statement for your records.
