Royalties on ESA support group was created by lollo1
Hi sorry for keep asking questions but our son has had a royalty payment for some music. He is on pip higher rate both, esa support group. Obviously it has to be reported but does anyone know how it will affect his benefit. I am his appointee but his ESA has always gone into his sole account. He has autism, cognitive impairment, memory impairment and learning disability. His music is the one hobby that keeps him going. After telling him this is potentially classed as income he has had a complete meltdown and was found yesterday with a noose round his neck, it’s been horrendous. I am now beside myself as this royalty payment was not something I was aware of and obviously I can’t control every aspect of his life. I have it in my mind that I am going to get accused of benefit fraud. I know there is nothing I can do until Monday but any advice would be great full as he doesn’t get the gravity of the situation. Many thanks.
