UC Migration Enhanced Support Journey Question was created by Chaps
Hi. I asked the Citizens Advice Help to Claim if I was included in the Migration Enhanced Support Journey as you suggested. They did not know and asked me if my records were flagged. I do not know, however my last Pip assessment was paper based and awarded and ESA were fully aware of my difficulties. Not assessed for ESA since 2020, papers sent in and heard nothing, assumed due to pandemic.
My Question is : Do/Should I ask about the Migration Enhanced Support Journey in my journal? What do I say/include and how to word it?
Citizens Advice Help to Claim did a breakdown of payments to expect. I told them about P60U. They suggest I add the following on to my journal in the payment section :
Please confirm that my transitional element is correct and that I can have a legitimate expectation that as a result, my UC award is correct, and that I can rely on this assurance and use my UC for day-to-day costs, including paying my rent.
This increases the chance of any overpayment if it occurs being waivered. Please add this to your journal for 2-3 months.
The other suggested statement to add would be as follows:
My LCWRA status should carry over from my ongoing CBESA (now NSESA) award under reg 19 TP regs 2014. This should also apply the LCWRA element immediately without serving another relevant period under reg 28(5)(b)( i ) of the UC regulations.
How often should i add it to journal, eg, once a month? Do I word it exactly as they have said?
Should i do this before Wed 14th ? My journal says they are phoning me “Extra info to discuss UC”. I think the call may also be to verify my ID as I used my passport and Credit reference. I assume this is to accept committments for New Style ESA.
Should committments only be to report any changes in health ?
I also need to ask for my rent to be paid direct to my landlord. CA suggested waiting to inform housing of the change in case I need a Discretionery housing payment for rent.
I hope all this makes sense and you are able to help.
Many thanks

Hi Chaps
A Discretionary Housing Payment is granted by the Council not UC. So the best advice is to wait and see what shortfall you have before applying for a DHP.
I would take the advice of the Help to Claim service.
Unfortunately you will just have to wait until your UC statement is released which is 4 days prior to payment. Evidently there are lots of errors with the LCWRA element at present due to lack of staff. They have bitten of more than can be chewed in moving everyone to UC this year instead of by 2028.
