If I were to do the migration from esa & other benefits to universal credit I would do a very simple thing I did not do, I would ensure the UC payment date falls a few days before my monthly rent is due.
From the day we submit the universal credit application online, we have to wait five weeks for the monthly payment to come in.
Unfortunately in my case I get my UC just a few day after the monthly rent comes out. Before the migration I would have had weekly and fortnightly payments of various benefits up the rent payment date.
To make it worse apart from the UC lump sum of payment coming a few days after my monthly rent is due I was given a section 21 notice which is a no fault notice to leave the property and apart from coming up with the rent payment which is due monthly before before the UC payment date, I have to get the rent and deposit in advance to a new place. So I have learned from my mistake and wanted to share it with you online/
