Hi
I'm hoping someone can please help/advise me with a problem I've encountered.
I've recieved this email:
A significant change has happened to your Universal Credit account, which will affect your payment.
You should check your account urgently to review the change
.

Its a joint claim - I'm the one thats ill - I'm in ESA support group. I get PIP
My husband gets carers Allowance - He doesn't claim anything else
We've been filling in the "to do" list.
I got this email after my husband filled in the "Health" section, about/for himself
HIS Answers as follows:

Do you have any illnesses, disabilities or ongoing health conditions? - YES
Tell us what conditions you have - 2 listed
Has your doctor said you might have less than 12 months to live due to any of your health conditions? - NO
Do any of your conditions restrict your ability to work or look for work? - YES
Are you currently receiving Employment & Support Allowance (ESA)? - NO (Its only me that gets ESA & hes on that)
Do you have a fit note? - NO
How long you've been affected - 13/09/2022
Pregnant - NA
Hospital Stays - NO
Medical Treatments - YES - Start 10/04/25
What happens next - If you are still unable to work or look for work after 7days you will need a fit note etc --
We pressed continue, but now wonder if we've done the right thing.
This did unsettle us, but we presumed it would sort itself out as he has never claimed for himself, and he is my carer, so assumed this wouldn't really apply to him, even if we had to expain to someone that its me thats claiming due to ill health, not him.....

But then I got that email - which has really worried us, and we don't know how we should proceed.
EG do we need to take his health conditions off? Leave it on and put a note in the journal when we've submitted the claim.
Any advice would be very gratefully recieved
TIA

Hi SinkingFast,

I would contact Turn2us, and explain everything to them that you have on here. They have specialist advisors who can help deal with things 1 on 1 - a more personal service.

www.turn2us.org.uk/

You could also call the UC hotline to ask for a more in depth explanation of "the significant change"

Chris.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems
