Reporting Change of Circumstances for PIP moving to Supported Living was created by Broadline
Hello
My daughter is in her 20s and is in receipt of PIP at Enhanced rates for both elements.
She was originally on DLA from an early age and transferred to PIP in 2019. Her award was ongoing and is not due to be reviewed until 2029 - a 10 year award.
I have Lasting Power of Attorney ,registered at DWP, and they write to me about her PIP at our home address.
Over the next few weeks she is due to move into supported living. It is a one bedroomed flat in a new build of 12 flats. There is 24 hour support on site and she will also have a 1:1 care package of 20 hours a week at the flat to help with daily living, such as cooking, cleaning, shopping, help getting up ready for the day and help to eventually travel independently to 2 voluntary jobs she has at charity shops. She will also have 10 hours a week support for community activities with her current support worker, who has been with her for over 10 years.
She is on no other benefits but will soon be applying for Housing Benefit for the new flat.
This is good news for her future but I would appreciate some advice on the following please.
Does a move to Supported Living automatically affect her PIP payments?
Do I need to advise DWP of this change?
Do I need to advise them of her new address, even though all letters are sent to me?
Do you think this will set in motion an early review of her PIP, particularly with the current changes happening? I had hoped we would be at least ‘safe’ from any review until 2029.
Thank you.

Hi Broadline
The first question I would ask is, has your daughter condition(s) got better?
Will you be doing anything different for your daughter, once she moves into supported living?
Supported Living does not affect PIP, PIP is not really about your daughter's conditions but the limitations that result from them, have a look at our PIP Claim for information on the process and the criteria against which she will be assessed against. See
www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/help-for-claimants/pip
Once your daughter has settled in to her new accommodation I would let DWP know her new address
As to your question will it trigger an earlier review, it would depend on any changes of circumstances.

Hi,
Thank you for that.
No her condition remains the same
She will have a 1:1 care package and there is 24 hour assistance, I won't be doing anything for her as I do now. eg. driving her places, cooking meals, food shopping, cleaning etc - all the things that as a parent we all do. Her current care plan shows me doing the 'daily care stuff' but this then moves to the care people at the supported living flats. Thank you
