Help working out payments ESA migration and Scottish system was created by lamplight2012
Good morning all,
I completed an application under the migration process (online) on 27th May.
I have requested in my journal that payments come to me every two weeks (under Scottish Choices with an Alternative Payment Arrangement).
My next ESA is due 5th June.
It says I should hear about amount awarded (ESA support group with SDP) on/by 29th June.
It says first payment date 3rd July.
I phoned yesterday and they said I would get 1/2 £ on 3rd July and the next 1/2 on 17th July and so on???
This doesn't seem correct to me and am looking for your help understanding.
Surely if they do the above I will be short 2 weeks payment (£480) straight away.
Say amount was £10, a monthly claim will give £10 on the 3rd July, £10 the next month and so on.
They are saying under a two week claim I get £5 on the 3rd July, then 2 x £5 every following month which leaves me a full two weeks short?
Could someone please help me make sense of this ?

Hi lamplight2012
When would you have liked to get your first half payment of UC and second half payment?

Hello
I actually don't know?
The way I am reading it , it that the above means I lose 2 weeks money ?
I may be confusing myself out of a panic over budgeting and would be grateful if you could advise if I will lose 2 weeks payment if the do as they state above?
Do I not end up short on a payment this way?
I am hoping there is a simple explanation and looking for clarity from someone who understands this better than me.
(I am having to work out budgets for p/a's/carers etc)
My apologies if this is a silly question.
Thank you.

Hi lamplight2012
I am not aware of the Scottish system so I cannot answer your question, I know that we do have members on the forum with expert knowledge of the Scottish system.

In relation to UC and ESA i think there is only 1 system.
You have to wait 5 weeks for your 1st UC payment.
