Dear all, Just had a letter from PIP advising the law is changing - this is of course before the Green Paper is actually implemented so they plan to steam ahead regardless of any discussion. Public consultation isn't really in the mind of gov as they seek to smash these changes in. My letter was about "social support" and "a change in the law" - saying I didn't have to say anything but social support was in contention. I had two points for social support/communication after the WCA. I don't mix much, largely trust my GP ( known him for over 20years) my partner ( over 40yrs) and a that's really it. I just don't mix socially, partly down to the dreadful drumming anyone sick or disabled gets. I went to hospital last week for a breathing/COPD/stomach pain issue but my partner had to leave to pick up grandsons from school as our daughter is unwell, stressed and working. As an ex hospital admin worker I knew there was something on my notes the staff saw, I don't know if this is in relation to the the DWP sending directives through to the NHS? As it was when Hunt pushed the DWP into doctors surgeries? I've been a JC clerical officer too so know when there's something up on the system, an A&E receptionist called a colleague over to do with something on my notes. It's truly worrying & I won't visit the NHS again no matter how unwell I am. I got lost in the hospital and relied on staff to get me around, it was an awful day as I didn't understand where some new temporary units were but I get no points for not having any direction sense for PIP, I didn't question it or appeal even though I truly can't get around on my own. Haven't for years. I have asked for social support to do voluntary roles, even considered becoming a Social Prescriber (have the exams and experience) but my health has been a constraint. A social prescriber was supposed to support me into a role but I now reflect she came into my home not to help me but the state implement changes, she was judgemental and unkind. Just a heads up, I'm not sure how I'll go about responding yet. But it shows they are putting in the plan without consultation impacting anything. I think my shadow cabinet MP will help many as they can see these plans are unworkable and harsh on the least able to fight back.
