Best way to prepare for Pip reassessment

Am in receipt of Pip, for ten years, ten years will expire next year. My award says "it is inappropriate to fix a term" Have money for daily living and mobility. One of daily living activities scores four points. When they review, how will they do this? Do I just need to say things are still as problematic in the various areas as before. Will they respect the four points I already hold or do I need to reprove them? Any advice helpful as had lots of medical evidence last time and ended up with 0 points at first interview and four points at mandatory reconsideration; tribunal awarded pip. Any guidance on managing next stage will be helpful. Can you remind me of language needed to use - was it regularly, reliably, in a reasonable amount of time, without risk to self or others, not needing supervision. Thankyou.

Hi Jane52

In the guide to PIP Claims and Reviews it explains the review process - starting at Page 128. At some point you should be sent a new light touch review form AR2, which is substantially shorter than the AR1 review form. The guide suggests how to answer the questions. The AR2 is more about confirming that your difficulties are still the same.

Biz I will possibly be in the same position as Jane52 next year for my son. He has an ongoing award from 2017. Just looked yesterday and said he won’t be contacted till after May 2027. In the guide it says to tick the boxes if there are no changes on the AR2. Do you just provide previous and current medical information and literally tick the no change if that applies without any further information. Our son had 5 descriptors that he scored 4 in. But I like Jane52 want to have my ducks in a row if that’s at all possible in the current climate.

Hi lollo1

We advise claimants when completing a review form to treat the form as a new claim, if you kept a copy of the original claim use that as a template and make any amendments that is necessary such as your condition(s) and medication.

Use extra pages if necessary to explain your condition and number each additional page.
