I’m sure this is a repeat so, sorry in advance. I have used your pages for years and for this I am so grateful. I just went to an advice centre to migrate. I had downloaded your help and it was indeed helpful.
Doing the online application, the lady tried to get me to wait. Saying that after two weeks esa (support group) will stop and there will be a shortfall. I was pretty sure (though there could be a wait and gap in payment) you would still get paid, just in arrears. Could you enlighten me if possible please?

Hi Nienna
How can there be a shortfall if you are referring to the 2 week ESA run on?
Income Based ESA stops when you submit your UC claim.

I get esa every two weeks. They said after two weeks this will stop. From then will I be covered by UC? They seemed to think in starting my claim today as I did, I would lose money between claims. I assumed that from when esa stops you fall under the UC umbrella and it would be back dated to that day

It was implied that there could be a period of unpaid time between claims. I would get the two weeks run on and then a wait and back payment of UC. She seemed to imply there could be a period of non payment between the claims

I have tried submitting this reply many times and it’s not working. Sorry if it pops up a dozen times!
The lady seemed to think I would get the two weeks run on. Then there would be a gap of non payment. I said surely that’s back dated as you are now claiming UC and she was unsure
