Migration confirming identity was created by kaz1102
Hi
I am currently doing my sons application as we received a migration notice from IR ESA support group. He is 27 and has a SLD. I am his appointee. I need to confirm his identity and he only has a passport. What else can i use for identity? We have his DLA letters? A p60u? Going somewhere to confirm his identity would be an issue as his routine is closely managed and changing this would have a knock on effect over many days. I have added a note to his journal but i wanted to prep ahead to know what may happen. Can anyone advise me please.
Thank you

Hi kaz1102
As you are his Appointee the DWP will not request to see him or even to speak to him. You should be able to take the docs you have to your local Jobcentre. You can use an expired passport in the Jobcentre as ID.
Let me know how you get on.

Hi Kaz1102, your situation sounds similar to mine - I am appointee for my daughter and she has just received the ESA to UC migration letter, but I've not started it or opened an account yet. You are further ahead than me, from the sound of it! As appointee, are you putting your own contact details (email, phone number etc) but completing for your son? I am unsure what to do. Any info gratefully received - thanks!

Hi Hilary
Make sure you input all your own contact details as the DWP will not want to communicate at all with your daughter.
