ESA Permitted Work or UC Work Allowance (migrated on both...) was created by (SIC)
I was managed migrated to UC recently, and was on contributory ESA prior.
I have been awarded UC (with TP and LCWRA), and my ESA was switched to "New Style'', but I remain on this as well. It just gets deducted from my overall UC award payments.
There are however different levels of work allowed within both benefits, Permitted Work for ESA and Work Allowance for UC.
I am assuming if I did up to the limit hours/pay wise that would still be fine for ESA Permitted Work. However is then that the UC Work Allowance begins to take affect and taper still up that limit?
The ESA Permitted work is more generous, and I am concerned way earning about the UC Work Allowance will do to my TP...

Hi (sic)
You have to remember that all New Style ESA is deducted £ for £ from UC. Also that the earnings from ESA permitted work are subject to the UC rules. The main thing is to check that you get the UC Work Allowance.
You would be advised to use a Benefits Calculator such as entitltledto.co.uk to work out your full entitlement.
Let me know how you get on.

Am on UC in the LCWRA and am on Enchanced Care PIP.
So whilst ESA Permitted Work would allow for up to £195 earned per week, the UC Work Allowance is £411.
If all ESA including the Permitted Work is deducted from UC, then it would follow that any monthly total earnings that are still below the ESA PW maximum rule, but above the £411 UC WA would then be subject to the UC WA taper.
Just another way in which UC is less generous than ESA was...

Hi (sic)
Yes UC was designed with the intent to reduce people's Benefits unfortunately.
