Hello, I'm a victim of the issues described in the short note re mixed ESA awards document.

I was on CB & IR ESA and had to migrate to UC. My UC migration start date was May 1st. Assessment period of May 1 to 31. The migration was a disaster for me, as due to DWP incompetence I received £0 as nobody even looked at my migration claim until after the first assessment period. On 14 June I finally received just £417 LCWRA delayed payment.

Luckily, I received £281 approx in NS Esa every 2 weeks from.15 May due to the UC MM trigger.

As I now understand, my combined ESA changed to New Style ESA on May 15, and I'm one of those who UC deducted a whole month's payment of NS ESA , £609.10, even though my NS ESA didn't even start until the 15th.

I have seen CAB, spent untold hours in calls to both UC migration , UC and ESA depts and nobody can tell me why a full months NS ESA was taken when I didn't start getting it until the 15th.

I got £341.87 in NS ESA, UC has taken £609.05...I am approx £268 worse off in the first month of UC than I was on legacy benefits. My legacy ESA was mostly IR , with a small CB ,even if they had taken my CB off for the first 2 weeks, it wouldn't be anywhere near £268, it would be approx £42.

Can anyone advise me on who I can talk to at DWP or CAB that might be able to explain why this has happened? As nobody from any of the sources I've mentioned has been able to answer my questions on it.

I've asked for a full written statement/ explanation, several times, on why , and also why my managed migration wasn't even looked at in time, despite being told it was being put in front of a case manager on the 21st, and they'd contact me within 2 days .....when it was still completely missed until after my first assessment period....but no separate written statement provided, or even anyexplanation in my UC journal about any of my questions.

I need to understand precisely how this has happened to be able to put a MR in, or to just accept why they're entitled to take off money I haven't received.

Can anyone help please?

Hi Leal1705

If you follow the instructions in the link you can sift through all your payment statements to look for the mistake.

You can also use the Benefits calculator Entitledto.co.uk to determine what your payment should be in a specific circumstance.
